So for the past few years I’ve been doing a “year in review” post (2004, 2003) and it always ends up being ridiculously long, I’m sure this year will be no exception, so we might as well get started, right?

I’m splitting this into two parts… Part I is Jan - Jun… Part II will be out next week and will be Jul - Dec.

JANUARY
I spent New Year’s in Nashville and went to my last football game as an Alabama student and watched the Tide lose to the “Golden Gophers” with a little help from their friendly referees. No sooner was I back in Tuscaloosa before I skipped town for Tempe, Arizona were Morgan & Ryne got hitched (photos here). There were a few controversial posts around the middle of the month, and (of course), I kept things interesting with a little girl-on-girl action. Right at the end of the month I was featured at Legal Underground which was pretty cool, and I hadn’t even started law school yet. This was, also, when I met a whole bunch of folks (KimHo, Bo, Jeer, etc, etc, etc) who have became pretty regular fixtures in my life. Neat.

FEBRUARY
In February I was a little hesitant about IU because, at that point, they hadn’t really started to make use of ExamSoft yet and exams were done either by hand or on typewriter. I said that I couldn’t imagine hand-writing the exams… and now that I’ve taken a battery of them, I still can’t. I had to hand-write a portion of my Crim exam and I’m quite certain that my hands would’ve straight fallen off without my precious lappy. After hearing that pc-based exams were, in fact, on the way I was back to happy with IU… which was good because it was a short while later that I was accepted to Indiana University-Bloomington School of Law. After a chance encounter on TheFacebook, Nicole, Tiffany, and I went to see the Graham Colton Band in Huntsville… I think I’ll always remember good ol’ Fuzzy Boots… it was a great trip.

MARCH
I participated in more CKI drama, debuted the Tuscaloosa Restaurant Picker, moved into a new office at work, and the Supreme Court ruled that minors couldn’t get the death penalty. I celebrated Eat an Animal for PETA day like I always do: by eating an animal. I also learned a valuable lesson about tequila thanks to some idiot. On a lark, I decided to go to College Southerns and played with IU’s Ultimate team for the first time. It took me a while to get there because larks are slow. If you hate obnoxious teenagers or Tennessee fans, read this — it may be one of the funniest things I’ve posted here.

APRIL
We couldn’t let April go by without a little CKI Drama but it died down pretty quickly as people realized (again) that President Dibley was a bit of a tool and the staff up in Indy is incompetent. I made a trip up to Bloomington to play ultimate with the IU guys and we partied pretty hard, too. I summarized why the south is so great. Charlsie and I had the best IM conversation in the history of the internet. My brother got himself a hernia … and then had fun with the pain meds. By mid-month I was kicking ass in Number Theory which lead to my most embarrassing moment ever. Finally, I decided I was perfectly capable of driving and talking on the phone at the same time.

MAY
My new office was starting to frustrate me. Also? I failed to graduate. Again. Kecia and I signed the lease on the house and Ara went to prom. I didn’t have to quit eating Papa John’s after they screwed up my order because they fixed it. I made a new global blogging policy about sex dreams and, furthermore, one of my posts was cited in a speech for a UCSD class by a guy I’ve never heard of.

JUNE
The best thing I did in June was to join Blingo which has, since then, netted me an iTunes gift card and a $100 visa gift card. My job frustrations continued, hypothetically. I had been running for a while… in Alabama. In June. Kevin and I got quoted in the NYU Journalism Webzine about blogging for Fanblogs. Also, we started off Tuesday Night Dinner Club at the Eight-tizzle.
