Every day, like clock-work, an idiot will accost me with their idiocy. Today was no different. Observe:
Today’s Idiot: Why is the tag office closed so early?
Me: Well, it is nearly 4:45.
TI: The sign says they close at 4:25.
Me: Then I guess they’ve been closed for nearly 20 minutes.
TI: *becoming perturbed* So they don’t work a regular 8-hour day? You know, 8-5?
Me: *ignores the fact that 8-5 is a nine hour day* I’m sorry, ma’am. They close at whatever time it says on the sign on the door. You might be able to catch Tuscaloosa’s tag office. I think they’re open until 5:00.
TI: *Now visibly disgusted* By the time I make it there … *mumbles* … $3.00 in gas … *mumbles* … get off of work early … *continues mumbling as she leaves in a huff*
