Well… I’m seeing lots and lots of really nasty pictures on TV, but I’ll tell you what, at least in this neighborhood, this wasn’t any worse than thunderstorms back home. More than 800,000 without power, but I haven’t lost it for more than a few seconds yet… and that was only twice.
It was a little disappointing, but good that Tuscaloosa didn’t get hit too hard. Makes me glad I didn’t high-tail it out of here yesterday afternoon.
It looks like we might get clipped by the storms on the back side of the rotation, but I’m not terribly worried about it at this point. As of now there’s hardly a bit of rain coming down, the wind has all but stopped, and while we’ve probably taken 3 or 4 inches of rain today, I’ve not heard much about flooding in Tuscaloosa County.
I guess, on the plus side, I got out of school today.
