Plans have changed. City employees, of which I am one, are “on call” for tomorrow through friday afternoon. The city has opened up a shelter at city hall, and city employees will be needed all day tomorrow to help with things. Luckily not EVERYONE will be needed, only five or six. Because I’m the the only employee without family within 200 miles of here, I’m pretty much on the top of the list for working until… it’s over. There’s supposed to be “relief” for those working, but by the time we need relief — 7:00pm or so tomorrow — getting TO city hall is going to be a difficult and dangerous thing to do, so at this point I’m planning on going to work at 8:00am, and being there until Friday around noon.
I’m still going out to stock up on bread, crackers, etc… so that if I do need to spend a few days here without power, it won’t be too bad.
Cell phone will be off starting at 8:00am, but I’ll try to check messages every two or three hours. If you want to get ahold of me, leave a message or call the City of Northport.
I’ll be online tonight.
I know this is a very dangerous and serious situation, but between you, me, and the rest of the internet… these are the kind of situations that I thrive in, so every new wrinkle and challenge just makes it all the more interesting.
More later.

Keep us posted on the predicament, Pete.
Take care!
I suspect you’ll be kinda busy, but do try to keep us posted. Maybe a guest blogger could give us a “Pete had three crackers & is doing fine” kind of update?
Be safe.
Be safe Pete!
Oh, I won’t be calling you since I don’t have your number(s).
