This weekend was supposed to be full of ultimate/goaltimate. Instead, it was full of rain. That kinda sucks. Yesterday I was a huge bum and basically sat around with Scout all day. Today was more of the same, except that it wasn’t pouring all day, so I was actually able to take the dog outside for [...]
I think the Atlanta Journal-Constitution needs a new headline editor. A few weeks ago they proclaimed “MARTA to run less trains on MLK holiday,” now they’re heralding a local hospital building at $35 facility: Hell, at that price why not get two? I mean, honestly, how hard is proof-reading these things?
It was gorgeous out this afternoon so we had a bit of a doggy photo-shoot with Scout and his friends Otis and Oliver. I went just a little crazy — 430-something shots. Most of which turned out to be bad or duplicitous, but I ended up with 60 or so good ones, and a few dozen [...]
I seldom talk about basketball because, Indiana University degree notwithstanding, I don’t follow it very closely. That said, this has got to be one of the most aggravating minor recruiting violations in recent memory, in any sport: According to the report, when assistant coach Roshown McLeod left a voice mail for Muniru on Oct. [...]
If you do not read Stuff White People Like, you are missing out. While it is another example of the kind of thing that could never be written about most other races here in the U.S., it is still hilarious. Here’s an excerpt from today’s new post: Much like virtually everything else that white [...]
Okay, I’m not really in a band, primarily because I am so utterly devoid of musical talent that even Nickleback wouldn’t take me. I am, however, capable of surfing the intarwebz and playing around in photoshop, which makes this facebook meme right up my alley. Rules: No Cheating or reloading until you get something [...]
For the life of me, I cannot get this song out of my head: “I got my swim trunks and my flippy-floppies, I’m flippin’ burgers you at Kinko’s straight flippin’ copies.” Getitoutgetitoutgetitout.
Played goaltimate today. Irritated some pansy who didn’t like getting resistance when he tried to run through people. Took some photos. Almost a third of which turned out not to suck too badly. We went for pizza (and beer, obviously) at Grant Central afterward, and that was pretty tasty. Tonight . . . Fadó? Probably.
Quoth Teresa: I think photos of Scout getting a bath are an imperative. Well, okay:
I can’t say that I find this particularly shocking: New research shows that, in men, the brain areas associated with handling tools and the intention to perform actions light up when viewing images of women in bikinis. I mean, really? Handling “tools” and “performing actions?” That joke pretty much writes itself, actually. The author of [...]
