It wasn’t any easier to wake up this morning. My breakfast didn’t taste any better. MARTA didn’t move any faster. I’m not going to make any more money today than I did yesterday. Today is, essentially, yesterday with a new name.
So, while I’m certainly not trying to rain on any parades here, to those who keep saying “Yes We Did”, I have a bit of news for you: you haven’t done anything yet.
You got a guy elected with Presidential experience comparable to my waffle iron. This is not an accomplishment.
One thing is for sure, though: all this “change” is in Obama’s hands. Given the returns for the House and Senate and the strong resulting Democrat majority in both, he will have no excuses available to him. If he doesn’t get the job done with that sort of setup, he doesn’t deserve reelection in 2012.
Electing Obama should never have been the goal — that wasn’t the finish line, it was the qualifying race.
