Happy Labor Day. I’m barely capable of doing the thinking required to compose entire paragraphs, but I’ll try.
On TV tonight… a new episode of The Closer (which I enjoyed) and the debut episode of Raising the Bar.
Here’s what I think about Raising the Bar: it’s awful. Of course, I’m sure a healthy portion of that has to do with how fake it is. Of course, I hate when people say things like that. Aside from the unrealistic nature of it, I’m not sure why — in an hour-long, commercial-free episode, it felt like they couldn’t go 3 minutes without jamming sex down our throats.
Also, Zack Morris fighting with Malcom’s mom is hilarious. As is the gay male law clerk sleeping with the female judge to sway her rulings.
…all in all, it’s just so sensational that it will either be a huge hit or a huge flop. I don’t think there’s any in between. I’ll probably give it another chance, though, if for no other reason than to find out if the Blonde ordered the double bourbon at the end for herself or Zack Morris. Either way, it’s pretty hot.

I didn’t think it was terrible all about sex.
I dunno, it was kinda dumb, I’ve been in an “unbearable lightness of…” mood lately so I would say that the worst thing about it was that it was forgettable and uninspiring (avoiding saying it was unrealistic, I think that goes without saying).
On the other hand, I watched it, and I watched a little promo thing they sent out in the local lawyer newspaper. I’ll probably watch it again. I like the dude that was on Angel. Don’t recognize anyone else other than Malcolm’s mom who irritated the snot out of me.
We’ll see if it gets any better…

You should have watched “Fringe” instead of “Raising the Bar.” I could tell that one was a stinker, even though the ad almost made me want to watch it.
