Yesterday was a crazy, crazy day. So crazy. I drove over to Athens for lunch and some tailgating before driving back to Atlanta to watch the game. Scout wouldn’t have done well for the 14 or 15 hours he’d have been alone had I stayed.

Speaking of Scout, his old collar (now 2+ years old) broke last week. He got a snazzy new collar as a gift from a friend of mine yesterday, and he really likes it. At least I think that’s why he gets all excited when I put it on him.

The game last night… oh my god. I don’t really even have the words for it. After all of the trash talk, talk of the “blackout”, comments about funerals, etc, etc, etc… it was so nice to come out and make a statement like they did in the first half. 31-0 at half-time against the #3 team in the nation?

One thing I will say for sure, gentlemen take note, the blackout is fantastic because what ends up happening is virtually every girl on campus wears a Little Black Dress to tailgate. The dresses really accentuate their glowing personalities.

I watched the game with Adam and Jenn two friends from Ultimate way back in the day — it was great. I really just can’t get over it. Part of me wishes that we had won a close game because, as a general rule, I really like Georgia fans and that loss must have been agonizing. I hope we have a few more beat-downs left in the clip for the likes of LSU and Auburn. If that cow college keeps playing like they have for the last three weeks, we might beat them by 100 points.

  1. Two Words: Roll Tide.

  2. You’ve watched the SEC long enough to know that LSU and Auburn aren’t the games to be worried about. If I were an Alabama fan, I would be worried about that Oct. 25 game up in Knoxville. Unranked and angry SEC squads tend to mess things up for SEC BCS candidates.

That said, we’ll see you in Atlanta in December, I imagine. ;)

    Go Dawgs!

  3. That was a very impressive game. It just goes to show you how much of a great coach Saban is. Alabama has a few new players but this is essentially last year’s players on the team, a year more experienced. Words can’t describe the type of motivator he is… Bama will really be rolling once “his” players are in the system.

As well as Bama played, and as excited as I am sure the fan base is… Saban might have been worth 8 mil a year.

An at-worse top three matchup at Tiger Stadium would be increadible. If Bama fans travel well ( and I’m sure they do) it might be the biggest crowd gameday would have ever seen. Both teams have trap games between now and then, I hope they both can make it through.

  4. Not to overstate it, but we do have 11 first year players (freshman + JuCo transfers) seeing significant playing time. The attitude on this team is much better, but there was a pretty major talent infusion as well.

  5. Roll Tide, and I agree we have definitely acquired many new players that are seeing a lot of playing time. I would not say this is basically the same team as last year at all, but I will give you the players that are the same are much more disciplined and you can tell they have been coached by someone that knows what they are doing.

  6. Hmm I thought it was only 4-5. However it’s impressive if that many newcomers are contributing. Either way… Bama is set for a while. Even if Saban’s ego gets to him again and he were to leave in a few years… he’s laying a great groundwork for Bama. I’m glad to see him successful… just wish it was not in the SEC West =)
