So lots of things are apparently going on in China. You know, other than the typical censorship and human rights violations. As far as I’ve been able to tell, there is only one Olympic event: boxing. I hear news of other sports, but have yet to see any of them on television. Unless you count Softball, which is really just a way for the U.S. to embarrass every other country we play.
Other observations:
- Apparently the U.S. women’s soccer team has a goalie named Hope Solo. This, by far, the most awesome name I’ve ever heard for a woman. It does not hurt that she’s hot. If you’re interested, you can be her MySpace friend.
- Apparently both the men’s and women’s 4×100m relay teams dropped their batons this morning and failed to qualify for… something. How does this happen, I wonder? These people have like one-and-a-half jobs… don’t drop the baton and run fast. Fail.
- We got five medals in two men’s track events (the 400m and the 110 hurdles). That’s pretty awesome.
- Tiki Barber apparently called Jenna Wolfe a “total medal cunt” on Live TV. No, really. Not “count”. I promise.
