Please excuse me while I nerd out a little bit on y’all.

For the last few weeks, in what little spare time I actually have, I’ve been working on a new WordPress plugin. The plugin that I use to handle the private posts (you are registered, aren’t you?) is called Post Levels and it hasn’t been updated in a while. So long, in fact, that it takes some tweaking every time a new version of WordPress comes out. That was getting annoying, so I decided to start from scratch, and the result is WP Sentry.

I got a bare-bones version of the plugin finished in time for the WordPress Plugin Competition, but it still needed some work. After a fair bit of testing, and feedback from some very helpful early adopters, I’ve finished version 0.3, and I think it’s pretty neat.

It should work well for a wide range of post security needs, from creating an elaborate “Members Only” section to just posting a few things to keep between you and your friends. You can read all about it on the WP Sentry homepage and if you have any questions or comments please shoot them to me via email.

  1. I’m not registered. And now that I know I can be it says that WordPress isn’t taking registrations. I feel sad.

  2. Oh, nice catch Kristina. Sorry about that. They’re enabled again.

  3. Aw shucks, and here I had a whole conspiracy theory built up in my head about you deliberately teasing people with a members only section only to have it rickrolling on a loop. :-P
