I realize this is old news for many of you, but I thought it was worth mentioning that Amanda and I have decided that she’s far too attractive to be dating me.

I kid, I kid. She decided.

Okay, fine. Our break-up was a totally mutual thing and didn’t have anything to do with the fact that I had been out-kicking my coverage for over two years1. We decided that, although we had a lot of good times and got along really well most of the time, there were some differences that we weren’t going to be able to work out and would not have translated well into a married relationship.

We’re on good terms, probably getting along better than we have in months, and everything is going well… except that our friends were not nearly interested enough for our attention-whoring tastes.

On the plus side she can now be the law school predatress she’s always dreamed of being.

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have, it’s not a sensitive or sore subject for either of us. We’re not happy that we broke up, per se, but I think it’s safe to say that we’re both happier in general.

At least this time around the parents don’t hate me, so I shouldn’t have to worry about someone trying to get me fired from my job.

  1. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Shut up.

  1. I would have been happy to whip up some dramaz after I found out, but your hitting on me wasn’t nearly convincing enough. Disappointed, I changed my mind.

    PS
…and Jesus said, if you believe in me, I will grant you salvation.

To which Peter replied, can I get kings instead?

  2. Here, here, well said. So ladies (and Manny), the title of “Secretary of Taking One For the Team” is now available.

  3. Well breakups are never a load of fun so I am sorry to hear of it but happy to see that at least it ended on decent terms.

  4. LOL! We all know his love for me was just too strong. We can also attribute it to the fact that my milkshake brings the boys to the yard. I can teach you but I have to charge.

  5. I am not LOLing at the break up; sorry. I am LOLing at Amanda calling me out.

  6. Asshole.

  7. I’m so offended.

  8. Ken, I’ll take Wisdom if you have it.

  9. I don’t. Is fort OK?

Always good to see another clothie when there’s a recently emancipated huntard skulking around.

  10. Did you two _really_ turn my break up post into a running World of Warcraft joke? You should be ashamed.

  11. Hey, I got a reference to the ex into that last one.

  12. So what’s involved in the Secretary of Taking One for the Team anyways? Standing as far away as possible when Pete is boring a gaggle of undergrads to death? Doesn’t seem like much of a sacrifice.

(There, that back on topic enough for you? QQ)

  13. You’ll have to ask Pete’s sister about the job description - she’s the one who came up with the title. And at least he wasn’t trying to hit on/go home with any of them. At least I don’t think so . . .

  14. Whatever, y’all. The undergrads love me.

  15. I have Fort, can I get Improved Spirit? I am specc’d Circle of Win ATM.

  16. Very nice football analogy.
