So here I am… a week and a half into a a new city, a new apartment, and a new job. Scout and I are still getting acclimated, but so far here’s how I feel about things.

Springfield… kinda sucks right now. Part of it is me — I’ve moved around a lot in my life, but I’ve never had to actually seek them out. I had school, so people were kinda thrown at me… all I had to do is get along with them. Now I actually have to find them.

Part of it is that I’m still not fully moved into my apartment. Many things that I quite enjoy are still sitting in an apartment in Bloomington… my TV, my big desk, my dining room stuff. Hopefully I can take care of that this weekend.

I’m enjoying the job so far… it’s something new every day, which is good and bad, but everyone is nice, the office is laid back, and I’m being given the latitude I need to do things the right way, which is great.

One change will be happening around the site, though. Up until this point, I’ve always been a paying customer of some school. I could say whatever I want with very little in the way of consequences. Not so anymore, so some of the stuff is going behind-the-scenes. If you’re interested in that stuff, be sure to sign up.

The very best thing about not being done with school, and the aspect I haven’t really taken full advantage of yet, is that when the work day is done, I’m done. No homework, no “projects”, nothing like that. When it’s time to go home, I’ve got my life to myself. That and actually getting paid. That’s nice, too.

  1. How do we sign up to get the behind-the-scenes stuff?

  2. Right here. I just added a link to the post.
