From the first time he “spoke out” about the ‘roids report, there was something that just didn’t feel right about it. It sounded too desperate, too rehearsed. After hearing the tape of his phone call with McNamee, I couldn’t be more convinced that Clemens was using the stuff.
McNamee asked, several times, “What do you want me to do?” and Clemens never really said “Quit lying about me!” You could just tell that they both understood what was going on.
Lawsuit or not… guilty, guilty, guilty.

Clemens is absolutely guilty. He’s playing the punk, rich boy card by filing the defamation suit against Mcnamee(a guy who will probably never get a quality job agian because of his honesty). Clemens should have his 4 latest Cy Young’s taken away, and be banned from baseball. He’s taking the Pete Rose route on this matter when all he had to do is say he ONLY used them once like Pettitte did.
Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Darfur, Kenya, Nigeria, Cleveland and Detroit. Waterboarding, Blackwater, Patriot Act, Walter Reed neglect. Subprime, S&L, Junk Bonds. Dollar worth less than the Canadian dollar. $5 trillion national debt. Prisons filled to the maximum.
vs.
Clemens took steroids.
You’re right, Tom.
We should discuss nothing but the hot-button lib issues.
Nothing else should even be mentioned.
Welcome to the real world, where lots of stuff happens all of the time.
I thing Clemens is guilty. I think Bonds is guilty. I thought Marion Jones was guilty.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t positive about Jones until she confessed. I don’t think Clemens or Bonds has the same integrity that Jones has shown (recently), so I may never be sure.
Regardless, bothe Clemens and Bonds would not get my vote for the Hall of Fame.
