In case you were under the deluded impression that coke/pop/soda was good for you… think again.

In The First 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down.

20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. (There’s plenty of that at this particular moment)

  1. Sometimes, coke/pepsi is probably the only reason i don’t accidentally lose ALL of my weight.

Guess I’ll keep drinking it ;)

  2. I think I’ll print this out and post it on my refrigerator.

  3. I think I’ll have a Coke.

  4. I never had any impressions coke was good for me or anyone else. But a can of diet coke in the morning on the way to work gets my juices going. I’ve tried drinking water, etc but it does not get me going like a can of diet coke. I guess it’s like coffee for some people, but I hate the taste of coffee.

It’s probably not the best thing for me health-wise… but what the hell. =)

  5. Yay! I found you! And I’m so glad I don’t drink soda!

  6. Just give me a cigarette instead, much healthier
