Toot toot! All aboard the crazy train! Next stop: Heartbreak City and Unemploymentsville.

I’ve tried my best to keep my comments to myself… or at least between me and the few other people I know who read TAN. Unfortunately, I no longer have any interest in that. Why?

Because she has lost. her. mind.

Now, I’ve talked about her before. But, to recap, she’s basically a whiny, hyper-sensitive lawyer in New Jersey who has a sense of entitlement the size of one of those large square states out west. But she used to be really funny.

She also has some boy issues.

The current insanity has less to do with the former and more to do with the latter…

[The following had to be gleaned from my newsreader's archives because much of it has been purged.]

The first mention, at least as far as I know, on her blog about the man she calls “Lord of the Rings” (because, despite being married, he doesn’t wear a ring) was back in late September. She then posted several times over the next three days about a different romantic interest of hers before purging her blog and starting over. Her first post when she returned was on 9/29 about how she was worried that there was “something afoot” between she and LoTR (she’d been working with him since early September).

From that point forward, after a brief count, she has posted 46 times. 11 of them have had no mention of LoTR… and five of those were Veronica Mars summaries. So… for those keeping score at home, we have LoTR: 35, Veronica Mars: 5, Other Topics: 6. She has, on numerous occasions, professed her love for him. I could go on.

All this would be fine… except that basically anyone reading her blog should be thinking this: “He’s not that into you.” He’s tried several times, in several different ways, to establish an appropriate distance between them (as the workplace and his marriage require) yet she is undeterred. (And this is all from reading her accounts… if one can tell, even from her accounts of the situation, that he is not interested, I can only imagine how obvious it must be in actuality)

There are three huge problems here. First, he’s married. Second, he’s not interested. Third, this is all happening at work. She has had trouble already finding employment due to her spotty resume (and the fact that she was distinctly not given an offer by the firm she worked for her 2L summer) … if she does something so overtly stupid, and it seems to be only a matter of time, that she gets herself fired from this firm… how on earth is she ever going to find another job? (at least one that she’ll not turn her nose up at)

This, to me, looks like a kid who goes to law school, gets a DUI, gets lectured by the Dean, and then continues to drive drunk.

It really is a trainwreck…

  1. wow. I used to read her back in the day when you first mentioned her, but frankly, she bores me. Still does really, but I looked back at some posts and I agree with you. De-freaking-lusional!

Not to mention, she’s apparently talked about this married man over whom she lusts with EVERY single PERSON in her entire life PLUS an unknown number of strangers through her blog. That’s just weird and can she not read back over her own posts and see how ridiculous she is??

    Whatev.

  2. yikes - i don’t even know where to begin. is she 15?

  3. Unfortunately, Amy, she is a real-live lawyer who represents real-live clients who would probably prefer her to be, oh, I don’t know, working than flirting incessantly with some other lawyer.

…oh, to say nothing of the fact that she gave a prospective employee an unfavorable review because she was female and attractive and took LoTRs attention away from her during a recruiting lunch.

  4. i find her behavior abhorrent. from turning a professional setting into 7th grade, complete with little mind games and dramas that don’t really exist, to feeling relieved when she saw this guy with his wife because that meant that someone else (a third person) wasn’t competing for his affections, to going nuts when he suggests that maybe sending her brother money all the time isn’t such a great idea (i love that she first says that anyone who makes such judgments will get “punched in the liver” by her, but then she says that she could never do such a thing because it’d jeopardize her job - so which one is it?). ug.
