Beer Pong Mania

I don’t think I wrote anything here ahead of time about the beer pong tournament we had on Friday… the night is a little fuzzy, but I think everyone had a good time. Here’s the recap, as best I can remember it.

• Two kegs, around a liter of hard liquor, several six packs of beer, and who knows how many bottles of wine, almost all consumed inside a span of about 3 hours.
• ~90-95 different people, high-water mark (most simultaneous guests) being at around 85 (as best I can tell).
• 25ish teams (maybe closer to 30), some unknown number of games. I really should’ve been counting. 3 tables with games running almost constantly.
• A constant group of people in my room keeping Scout entertained.
• The Final Four teams… Amanda/Jenny, Fitz/Kristin, Ty/Dinaburg, and Kyle/JDennis
• Kyle and Jason won. Congrats to them.
• Fitz/Kristin had the most respectable showing for a 1L team… the Houston/Clark duo the best for the 3Ls.
• Nobody got hurt. The cops didn’t come.
• The house was reasonably clean when I woke up on Saturday (Thanks, Manda), but the garage is going to smell like beer for at least a week and a half.
• Some random IU Junior showed up because he saw the party on facebook. (Who does this?)
• As far as I know nothing was stolen.
• I have a bag with a bag of sunflower seeds and some orbitz gum inside that someone left. I also have a hat with a shark holding a surf board that someone left. I don’t want these things (except maybe the gum), so if you want them, let me know.
• Fitz made mention of the party and Kristina thought things went well. I don’t know of any other blog-land references to it.
• Liz and I lost in the first round, though we mounted a spirited come-back.

Thanks to everyone for coming, being excellent house-guests, and paying even though it would’ve been really easy to get out of it as chaotic as the house was at times (I only came up a $40ish short, and that’s almost totally a function of my lack of realization that the State of Indiana has imposed an arm+leg tax on Kegs). Also, thank you too …all of the people who paid extra; …Mickey and Kyle for manning the tournament bracket while I had other things to attend to; …Jenny for handling the money at the beginning of the night; Itzie and Amanda for contributing their personal stash of beer so we could finish the tournament; …RJ for lending us a table; …Amanda for setup and shopping help; …and Kathleen for help publicizing to the 1Ls.

…so when is the next one? I think I’m ready to host again.
