Yesterday I went up to Indy with Amanda for a cook-out with her family and family friends. It was a good time. She and I won a few games of Euchre, ate a lot of really good food, and just basically hung around. I wish I could do that every day.

A few days ago I did a little calorie counting. You might remember that I have done this before. This time my calorie count came in just a little over 5,200… and that got me to thinking…

…can I, in one 24 hour period, consume 10,000 calories?

It would be quite a feat, especially for someone as scrawny as I am, but I think I’m up to the challenge. It will, however, take a bit of planning… and I will probably feel stuffed all day. But that’s okay, because I like feeling stuffed.

So sometime soon, I’m going to guess early next week, I’m going to set aside a day and do everything in my power to reach this lofty goal.

If any of you have any words of encouragement, or ideas for calorie-dense things I can eat, go ahead and leave them in the comments.

Also, unrelated, it looks as though I’m not going to get 20 questions, so I’m going to go ahead and answer them tomorrow… this is a last call. The limit on number of questions per person is hereby rescinded… go nuts. Maybe we’ll get to 20 yet.

Here are some ideas. Try Cold Stone Creamery. The “Love It” size of just about any of their ice creams (even without add-ins)is at least 1,000 calories. The new BK Stackers look like they can be pretty high as well. Finally, protein shakes like the ones athletes use to “bulk up.”

If you have a Hardee’s nearby, the Monster Thickburger is about 1100 calories. Add in a large fry and coke for good measure.

Beyond that, I would say Krispy Kreme doughnuts, most anything fried, and various ice cream treats may be the way to lead the life of gluttony.

The Monster Thick Burger is actually 1400… a large fry adds 600… if you get a large vanilla malt that tacks on about 800.

Topping out at 2800 for the meal… although I think my best bet is going to be to have a few big meals, but eat constantly throughout the day.

In an attempt to avoid ending my lunch break, I did a google search for you and discovered a meal bar that has 3,600 calories per bar. The website to order this bar is http://www.raytechcatalog.com/.....s-127.html. This seems to be the easiest way to get your 10,000 calories without having a painfully full belly!

Wow… I had a look at the link and those are impressive little bars… each serving (400 calories) has 100% of the daily recommended allowance of everything but iron… although the 3600 calorie “bar” consists of 9 of those 3 oz. servings… meaning the whole thing is 27 oz… a pretty hefty meal, though I’m not sure how a a thickburger, fries, and a shake measures up.

Kobayashi set a new world record in the Nathan’s hot-dog eating contest, topping out at aroun 16,000 calories in 12 minutes.

I think you’ve set the bar too low on this goal, heh.

Frying everything ONCE is for the weak. The real calorie packers fry their food, then re-bread and fry again.

Works great with chicken skin. Mmmm.

bagels are surprisingly very high in calories, although i don’t know if you can get a decent bagel in Indiana.
