‘Bama booster Logan Young was found dead at his home today, police describe the scene as brutal and bloody. While I certainly don’t appreciate the spot he put the Tide in, he didn’t deserve this sort of end.
I, obviously, have not seen the crime scene… but I’ve watched enough Law & Order: Criminal Intent to know that most crimes described as “bloodbaths” are usually fairly sinister. Three possible (of many) options here…
1. A disgruntled Alabama Fan. Facially, this is not outside the realm of possibility. For reference, you might remember the man who shot his son in the head following a ‘Bama loss. This would be a really odd time, though, seeing as Alabama is back on its feet and having some good seasons. I don’t really buy it.
2. His son. This would be the least interesting and most unfortunate of the situations, I think.
3. Some sort of College Football Conspiracy. Young and his attorneys had a knack for pulling out all the stops and putting some information out there that others (Fattie Fulmer, Tuberville, Miles Brand) would rather you not know. Is it possible he got too close to uncovering a major conspiracy? I’d put the odds on this behind some less interesting options, but ahead of the ‘Bama Fan option. Even if this is true, I’m not convinced it’ll come out… I guess we’ll have to see.

The conspiracy theory does have some legs…Young isn’t the first person victimized in this case. A Memphis attorney was beaten and files from the cases stolen from his office 2 years ago.
