About a month ago, I posted about The Attractive Nuisance’s employment and LRAP problems. Today, TAN turns down a job offer, presumably because of it’s horrible location: close to home.

Frankly, this is ridiculous. I think NYU’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program should just wash their hands of her at this point. She’s sucking money away from people who really need it while she waits around for her dream job to offer her a corner office and half a mil a year. This with a resume that she claims is lacking in certain areas.

Are you serious? It’s ridiculous. She needs to suck it up, take the job, and look for a better one if she’s not happy.

One Response to “Sense of Entitlement”

  1. I completely disagree. This was not a ho-hum offer, this was an offer in a state in which she has no desire to live. Moving there and taking the bar there and basically establishing herself in a place where she has no desire to stay would be like shooting herself in the foot. She would then have to study for and take another bar and then try to job search for something she liked better in a legal community where she was not an active participant AND have to deal with the geographic hardship and expense of trying to interview in a far off jurisdiction.

I agree with TAN, it’s much easier to just keep looking now for something more suitable in a state where she might actually want to live even if it’s not her “dream” job than to take a job hundreds of miles away just to continue the same search anyway. PLUS she has plenty of time, her clerkship is not over until the end of the summer.

    Just my $0.02

And BTW her resume can’t be that deficient. She is getting more interviews than I am and I don’t think my resume is too shabby, also I’m already licensed.
