First off, don’t forget to AskPete — I’ve only got a few usable questions left.

Friday I left first thing in the morning to catch a flight to Austin (via STL). The team wanted us to be at the airport three hours early. This was ridiculous, so I went two hours early. I got some work done on the flights and then spent an hour riding around Austin because a) the area around our hotel and the fields has a ridiculous highway system and b) my teammates, by and large, are retarded.

That night I got some more work done and on Saturday we went to the fields. We forgot to win our games on Saturday, going 0-5. This was bad. Granted, we were playing some of the best teams in the country, but we’ve got some work to do. Saturday night I thought about doing work, but that didn’t quite happen. Oops.

Sunday we tried to lose all of our games. We lost the first two, and wanted to forfeit the last one, but the other team asked us to play them to 9 (instead of 13 or 15), so we agreed. I didn’t play a lot in the seven prior games, so I made sure to get in to this one, played pretty well, and we wound up winning. So we were 1-7. Not great at all. Luckily, sectionals are two weeks away. We’re going to rock them.

We were scheduled to fly back at 7:00pm and get in to Indy at 12:30. That’d have been fine, except that I was scheduled for my physical (for the Marines) at 5:00am on Monday, my oral argument was that evening, and I had a lot of work to do. I had them take me to the airport as soon as we were done to see if I could get back to Indy any sooner flying stand-by. First snag, there was a flight to DFW cancelled, so I couldn’t get to Dallas any more quickly. I called Amanda who did some research online and found out that I could go through O’Hare. I barely made it onto that flight, but there were open seats to Indy, so I was good to go. I got in at around 10:30 and was in my hotel by 11:30. I worked until 1:00am and had a wake-up call scheduled for 4:00am.

They fed us a good breakfast at 4:30, but I was expecting to spend 5 or 6 hours at MEPS, so it wasn’t much of a consolation but somehow I got fast-tracked and was out by 8:30. I swung by the recruiter’s office and was on my way home by 9:00. I got back at about 11:00 so I had some time to work on my oral argument, despite being sort of tired.
