Let’s just be brief about this, because re-living it is not something I’d want to do… at least today.

The tournament was good. The Tournament Director was, it seemed, incompetent. Maybe it’s more fair to say tha the only really cared abuot the 16 teams in the power pools. Indiana-A was one of them. Indiana-B was not. The logistics of everything but the winner’s bracket on Sunday was a clusterfuck.

Saturday was relatively miserable. It rained all day and the fields were disgusting. Sunday was okay, weatherwise.

I played alright. It’s hard to get into any sort of a rhythm when so many of the players are inexperienced. I didn’t make too many mistakes and had a few really nice plays, so that’s good. There’s work to be done between now and Terminus in two weeks.

The A squad did great… lost on double-game-point to Texas in the semi-finals. They lost to Texas in the semis at CCC also, though, but by a greater margin. The team also has work to do for Terminus, but we’ve got a lot of fight and drive on the team, so that’s big.

The drive sucked. I got to see Kim as we drove through Tuscaloosa, so that was good. She’s still just as sarcastic as ever.

I didn’t take many pictures because I was busy playing. I think I might have to find a tourney near-by and just go for a Sunday afternoon and do nothing but take pictures. That’d be fun.

We left Baton Rouge at 3:15pm and managed to pull back into town just before 3:15am… which is really good time considering that we stopped to eat twice. Of course, then I spent 40 minutes getting the folks riding with me back to their houses. By the time I started a load of laundry (my stuff was dis. gus. ting.) sort of unpacked and actually got into bed it was… 4:30? Then, of course, I didn’t manage to get to sleep until probably 5:00 and the rental had to be returned by 9:00am, so I got… like three and a half hours of sleep.

I’m a little wiped.

I hear there were some pretty rad parties this weekend, though. Shame I missed those.

  1. You know my new home (O’Charleys) has To Go orders you could’ve stopped by there and seen me on your drive through T-town too.
