So this morning, when I awoke to find that the last remnants of my could had not yet gone the way of the Power Rangers, I was disappointed. I made off for some cold medicine and cough-drops, missing Contracts for what must seriously be about the forty third day in a row, and I came to a bit of a realization: my first final is in less than a week, and even as smart and good-looking as I am, I might need to study a little bit.

I know, I know. It’s a crazy thought, considering that I have the lowest undergrad GPA in the class, and can do nothing but out-perform that, but I’ve got big goals: I’m trying to stay out of the bottom quartile. That’s right, folks, I said it. I’m shooting for top 75%. You can call me a gunner if you want, but that’s how it is.

So I was laying out my studying plan in my head (which, for those wondering, was something like ‘Start right now, and don’t stop until the day after your last final… just in case there was one you forgot about’) and I realized that I have a few non-law school loose ends to tie up which will invariably keep me from sticking to any study plan I come up with. Stupid illegitimate children. So today I will be in the pit attempting to tie up those loose ends so that I can start studying tomorrow… w00t.

For serious, though, the study plan for CivPro (my very first law school exam, *swoon*) is 10 hours a day of studying, 14 hours a day of not studying, starting tomorrow. Crim and Torts will require a more rigorous schedule than that, Contracts probably will too. CivPro, though, is my friend and would not put me through the torture of spending 12 hours a day for a week working on it. We tight, yo.

Also that means that, starting tomorrow, I will likely be away on AIM a good bit unless you want to talk about interpleader, permissive joinder1, or 12(b)(6) motions. (and if that sounds like a hot time to you, call me after exams, I’ll rock your world, baby.)

So, be good… I’ll try to post and hang out on AIM some… but don’t miss me too terribly.

  1. good lord Pete, you’re killing me…let me know if you want to get together to study…and we’ll leave the “permissive joinder” out of it, ok?

  2. Hey, so when are we gonna start those “study” group get-togethers we discussed?? ;)

(Can you tell I’m currently loathing Civ Pro??)

  3. I’d be more worried about 12(g)-(h) if I were you :)
