Fanblogs XIV Ballot

This week’s Fanblogs XIV hasn’t been released yet, but ‘Bama fans will be happy to hear that the Tide rose from 14th in the Week 5 poll to 7th this week. My ballot for this weeks’ poll is as follows (last weeks ranking in parens):

Dropped from my ballot: Purdue (13)

Some bits of explanation: Texas hasn’t played anyone… but USC really should’ve lost the ASU game. I think they’re going to have some issues with Cal and Notre Dame… my prediction is that USC will not finish undefeated. I’d really rank Texas and USC tied for #1 if I could.

Virginia Tech is probably better than Ohio State… but I haven’t seen enough of either of them to justify a flip-flop. I’d tie them at 3rd if I could.

‘Bama needs one more good game — and to answer the Prothro question — before I move them ahead of Georgia or ASU… and ASU is the real deal, they really came as close as possible to beating USC and LSU without actually beating them.

The rest of the picks seem pretty straight forward… I’m not convinced that Cal is top 14, but I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt.
