Ryne passed along a nifty little experiment that a friend of his is running for his dissertation — it’s on working memory. It’s a little long and tedius… and it only works in Internet Explorer… but it’s kinda neat.

Congratulations!!

Your working memory span is: 7

This number is an estimate of the number of pieces of information you can store in your memory while solving problems.

The average adult working memory span is about 4.

I feel like I could’ve done better — but I don’t feel like caring. :)

If you want to take the study, make sure you have a good 10-15 minutes to yourself and go to www.internetcognition.com

I also got 7. However, I seem to remember that the average (as taught in the first year psych class that I took 3 years ago) was supposed to be 7? *shrugs*

7 must be perfect because thats what I got.
