So I previously alluded to the fact that this weekend started on Thursday, too… and it was a pretty awesome weekend.

Thursday there was a lot of talk about Karaoke at Bear’s. This was an interesting proposition because, a) we all have class on Friday and b) They have a few drinks which are large and amount to a Long Island on steoroids. That didn’t sound like it would be a good mix, so I decided to go but that I wasn’t going to stay long. I figured I’d be back home in an hour or two. Ha. Right. So the law kids won the Karaoke Party (we were the last ones out) and then a small group of us decided that we just hadn’t quite had enough1. We left Bear’s and headed to The Upstairs [Bar] where the party was still going strong even after 2:00am. We left The Upstairs some time before 4:00am and I made it about as far as a classmate’s couch that evening.

The next morning I walked home for a shower before class (goodness gracious I was tired) and had the “good fortune” of running into one of my other classmates who was on his way TO school. He asked if I had already been at the school and I just chuckled and commented that, no, I just hadn’t quite made it home from last night yet. He laughed, and then told the story to everyone in Legal Writing a few hours later.

So despite having very few of these wild incidents in undergrad I’ve gone two weekends in a row of going crazy — I think people might start to believe that I must have been a big party animal in college.

Anyway, Friday there was a happy hour for the law school where the Student Law Assoc. was announcing the election of the 1L class reps. I didn’t run, but I did go to drink free drinks. By this point I should’ve taken a nap, but still hadn’t. I was exhausted, but a little sleep deprivation has never kept a ‘Bama fan from having a good time, and I wasn’t about to be the first. Got dinner after the happy hour and then headed out to yet another Karaoke bar where I managed to stay until almost 2:00am. What the hell.

Slept in my own bed that night and actually made it to the training for the Protective Order Project on time (9:00am) the next morning. Saturday I did very little of note, but I got to bed at a reasonable hour because…

…I had to leave this morning at 8:30 to make it to Indy for a little round-robin tournament that the Mama?s played in. It was a good time. IU’s two squads pretty much dominated and I actually played fairly well in the second and third games2.

Got back here and got some work done… now I’m getting ready to go to bed so I can go to school early enough to finish reading for contracts. Bah.

1 - This was, in fact, not correct. Even by that point we had all had what I would consider to be “enough”.

2 - The third game was actually the two IU teams playing each other, so that was a fun, hard game… the other two games were not so hard.
