So today at work as an interesting day which caused me to really appreciate this Penny Arcade Comic. Long story short: a huge database was corrupted and we didn’t have a good backup.

So four or five people have to re-enter a week’s worth of data. That must suck.

On the way to lunch today there was an OnStar commercial on the radio. A woman was driving down the road and her Check Engine light came on. The nice OnStar man told her it was just a loose gas cap and she would be fine. Then the announcer, after telling you the details of the service, made one last pitch: “OnStar can tell you whether or not you need to pull over, or just tighten the gas cap.”

Oh, really? Because it’s really a good idea to try to tighten your gas cap while driving? Just wait for the lawsuits.

Tomorrow is my final. I’m also going in to work, but it is not my last day at work. This is unfortunate. I rented the trailer to use for the move. I need an oil change.

Nicole, Erin, and I are going out tomorrow night to celebrate my being ‘done’ and to drown our sorrows about my impending departure. (Actually, I think they’re celebrating that, too…)

Friday I have to go to work, but I swear that I’m going to leave as soon as they’ll let me… and then I’m gong to sleep until Saturday when it’s time to start packing up my shit. I’m so tired.

Sunday I’m loading everything I own into the back of a UHAUL and driving to Birmingham to hang out with Abby and Matthew one last time before leaving for Indiana on Monday by way of Illinois.

Tuesday will be my first full day in the new house. I may even have internet by then. No promises. But I do promise pictures once I do come back.

It’s all ending so soon. Where is the pause button?
