Today was the last day of orientation… there was nothing fun to do today. Lots of people finishing up their book-buying spree (my total for the semester came to… $725) and preparing for our first day of class as Real Live Law School Students™.
Today we had a presentation by the library staff — they seem really awesome. Dean F. said, after they were done, that “I just want to reiterate how great our library staff is — they will service you in ways you can only imagine.”
This comment resulted in a lot of wide eyes, gaping jaws, and nervous laughter. It was probably the best line of orientation. Seriously funny stuff.
Today reiterated just how awesome my Peer Group Advisor is… she’s pretty much the coolest thing ever. More on that, and my textbook issues, later.
Also: after finally getting an audience with “The best financial aid director in the country” (as described be one of the Deans) I found out that… the picture is not very grim at all. I’ll have money… though at this stage it may just take a little while to come in. It’s not all finalized yet, but it will be by next week some time.
Annnnyway, I’m going to bed because I have some reading/briefing to finish up tomorrow before class.
Peace out, kids.
PS: For the 8 or 9 of you who have emailed me over the past few days, I am not ignoring you — but checking email from this POS internet connection is a bitch and we don’t have high-speed ‘net yet. Maybe tomorrow.
