The Thing about Fark

One of the simultaneously amusing and irritating things about FARK is how many of the guys on there act a lot like the old roomie: highly critical of women’s looks while not really being all that fantastic themselves. Not that there’s anything inherently wrong with being critical but if you’re going to be adamant about it, or do it in a highly public place, you might want to have your house in order.

Allow me to illustrate.

Find any thread with a headline mentioning a hot girl in the article (”Shark jumps out of water and tries to attack hot white woman (pic). Someone call the national media”)

…wait a few minutes for the hyper-critical ones to show up…

And then observe when a guy like this:

Bailey Building And Loan

Says something like this:
“You’re kidding, right? That hamster-cheeked… THING is “hot” now?”

About a girl like this:

Ok, sure, she’s no Natalie Portman… but who is? I wouldn’t kick her out of bed.
