No, I’m not talking about Google’s neat new open source internship thingy that’s been making the nerdblog rounds, but what my summer is quickly turning into. Here’s the thing: I have a lot of projects. Which is not really a problem, I have time for them all… and they seem not to be overlapping too much, but I was sitting at my desk a few days ago I realized that… wow… I need to get my life in order. So I got out my forty year old Palm Vx, charged it up, and got it synced to Outlook. Last night I started putting dates/to-dos and such into Outlook and syncing it to the Palm. This makes me feel much better about things.
This would be the most boring post ever, though, if I stopped here… so here’s a quick breakdown of some of my projects for the summer.
- BlogCore: I’ve got some big upgrades to finish up — new templating system, cleaning some stuff up, etc.
- Hosted Bloggers: I owe some folks some new designs, and as soon as the new templating system is done in BlogCore I can actually do them.
- Slave Driver has me working on a huge ASP.NET project that’s been going on for too, too long. Hopefully will be over soon. Especially now that we’ve got Brandon the Wonder Boy Coder on the job.
- Fanblogs is going to require my attention at some point… we’re trying to expand it a little. (Think: Fanblogs for Ultimate)
- There’s a project for a client that is pretty straight forward, but I’m trying to spice up the interface a bit.
- Yet another fairly quick project is coming down the line shortly from an old friend that I met through my Dad when he was still working in Radio.
- I need to write a program to handle my backups and syncing between a desktop and a laptop for next year. This one is already planned out, just have to write it.
- I would really like to put together an entry for the OneNote Power Toy contest — I’ve got some ideas already, but this is a long way down my “to-do” list.
Also, I think I have a book to write… but that doesn’t have anything to do with coding.
So… I’m going to be a busy boy… and summer is like 1/3 over already! Gah!

you think you have a book to write?
Gah.
Well, yes. C’mon now — we haven’t talked about the time-line yet.
Book to write? COOL!
He was going to write my biography but apparantly you can’t get a post it note published in hardcover.
Fuck that. My work comes first bitches!
You write that code pony, you work for WHODA.
