I swear to Paris that this has made the rounds before. Essentially it’s an article saying that nerds make better lovers… and it’s true.
Would you like to know why? Don’t bother reading the article, I’ll fill you in in a short paragraph:
Nerds, generally, are a hair anti-social and not so good with the ladies. When this gun shy nerd finds a woman who is a) marginally attractive and b) actually interested in him, he will treat her like a princess, a queen, and a gift from above — because so rare is it to find in a woman those two traits (and for him to know it) he doesn’t feel “worthy” and, as such, dotes and takes care of her wants, needs, and whims in any self-effacing and self-sacrificing way necessary in order to keep her around. (I don’t think this is what the article says, but I could be wrong. I didn’t actually read it)
In other words: nerds generally make better lovers because of their emotional immaturity and insecurity.
Doesn’t that make them seem so incredibly sexy?
Yeah, I thought so too.

Pete! We already discussed this: Nerds have been and always will be sexy.
As for the rest of your theory… I’m not so certain I agree… but I think I’d need to actually get some sleep if I am to really coherently think about that [not that the fabled sleep thing is likely to happen soon].
Ali: you just have unusual tastes, that’s all.
Me too, haha.
Also, I think some of you need a lesson on the difference between nerds, geeks, and dorks… and people who are just intelligent and not any of those other things.
Aw, Pete’s defending me.
Haha… I don’t know, Ryne… you might actually be a dork. I think we need some further evaluation on this issue.
Ooh, goody! A case study!
I think it depends on the subtypes of nerds, geeks and dorks really… these broad categories are just plain too broad at times…
But I stand by my comment regarding sexiness.
And I still say that you have unusual tastes.
And yet… I seem to know a whole lot of people that agree with me (not that the sample is representative or anything, so for argument’s sake, this probably doesn’t help, as true as it is).
Anywho… what are the definitions of nerds, geeks and dorks anyhow? Looking at dictionary.com really really doesn’t seem to help in this regard.
From The Bonds Dictionary:
Nerd: a person devoted to an area of thought or science
Geek: a nerd who is so devoted to science that it consumes them and makes them who they are, including but not limited to style of clothing, thickness of glasses, and inability to “hang out” away from the science of their devotion
Dork: a person who acts like a geek, yet may have absolutely no clue in any area of thought or science
Examples:
A computer geek spends almost no time away from a computer, is a devout gamer or programmer, and “hang out” time is at a LAN party. A computer nerd may have a life outside, a girlfriend, money, and even taste in clothing. A computer dork doesn’t really know anything about the computer, but still attempts to “hang out” at LAN parties with computer geeks and wears similar clothing.
Interesting… my sources (undoubtedly nerds themselves following this above definition) told me that nerds were some characters from Dr. Seuss or something…
Mind you, there seems to be fairly good agreement between the definitions of geek and dork that they came up with and those you’ve listed.
Brandon: your definition of “dork” is miles away from sane.
I think the key is that it “dorks” aren’t really related to “nerds” or “geeks” that way… “nerds” and “geeks” might be thought different classes of the same dementia, but “dorks” are something different entirely.
My mom always says “Nerd make the best husbands.” I don’t think it’s about the type of man you date as long as you find a man that is right for you.
I totally agreed with Nicole!
Well, CK, I hope you find the man that’s right for you.
That’s not what I meant, and you know it.
So what you are saying is that nerd love is like sex for fat people (I’m fat I can say it. Get over it). They don’t know when the next time will be. Some don’t remember when the last time was, so when they get a chance they go after it and tear it up.
I think this particular Foxtrot comic is quite relevant:
