After our big bust in terms of apartment hunting at Indiana, we were a little at a loss for what to do, because we really didn’t want to make the trek back. Well, we did look at some apartments that looked nice, but they didn’t have any of those left. As we were talking with the nice woman who showed us around, she mentioned another property that they had which was town homes and closer to campus. But it was a little more than we wanted to pay. She said they could negotiate on the price with us on top of the discounts we get because I’ll be a grad student. (Provided that I ever graduate)
Anyway, after chatting with The Kec a week or so ago, we decided that the town home properties they talked about would be fine… as long as they had some left. So she volunteered to take care of that.
Today she calls me back and tells me that a) They have two left, b) They’ll honor the small discount they had offered before, c) she convinced them to toss in the washer & dryer at no charge, and d) The security deposit is really low.
My sister pretty much rocks.
So what’s the story?
We’ll be living here (not sure which specific floor plan) in a 3 bedroom, 2(.5?) bath, two-story, attached garage town home which is pretty close to campus. We haven’t actually seen these yet, but the other apartments we saw were in reasonable condition as compared to how they looked on the website, so if the same holds for this property, we should be in good shape.
Anyway… it may or may not be the best place to live, but at this point we’re mainly just concerned that we have a place to live at all, and now that’s handled. Good for us.

A while ago my friend Bill said those apartments were one of the best deals in town - I decided I wanted something closer, but they should be good to go. Bill actually grew up in this town, so he propbably knows what he’s talking about.
The Deer Park people have been really easy to work with so far… I take that with a grain of salt because they’re trying to sell us something, but I’ve seen plenty of people be rude while selling… so… it’s a good start.
nice!!
these look awesome.. and the washer/dryer is key.. a must have. three bedrooms huh? who’s in the third? or do you really not care at this point.
The third is nobody for now. It’s a “study” — or a room in which to study. Or something. If we find out that we’ve obligated ourselves financially over our heads, we can take on a third.
So when I come visit, I can stay in that room? I’ll bring sweet tea.
You can stay in whatever room you’d like. Kecia and I will both sleep in the living room so you have your choice of accomodations.
Especially if you bring sweet tea.
