Apparently the Winter Arbitron Ratings are out for New York and Los Angeles: two of the most liberal cities in the United States. One would imaging, a year after kicking off, Air America would be going strong. One would be wrong:
It’s been a full year for Air America’s flagship station, WLIB, in New York City. Month after month, it has gone nowhere in the ratings. This month is no exception, as the full Winter 2005 ratings book is released tonight for New York City.
WLIB’s tiny 1.2 audience share, for all listeners 12 and older, is the same as for Fall 2004. The audience is actually smaller now than when the station first flipped to the liberal talk format from Caribbean programming.
In other words, we can reasonably conclude one of two things… that the Left’s message is about as popular as Caribbean music, or that their haughty, smirking, elitist method of presenting their message isn’t really going over well with their core demographic. Gee. That’s a surprise.
As much as I like Bush’s foreign policy (most of the time), I’d have much preferred a real conservative… and I think most folks are the same way. We don’t want to give away our money, and we don’t want the government spending it recklessly (which is they only way they know how). However, the left is certainly not going to take any votes away from conservatives (or “conservatives”) until they can get over themselves and stop assuming that they’re “more enlightened” than the unwashed masses who voted for King Chimpy McBushHitler.

“King Chimpy McBushHitler”….hahahaha….oh man, that’s good stuff. I heart W.
the real problem is that too many people consistently underrate the popularity of Caribbean music… that will probably be a big issue next election
