I was watching The Newlyweds at lunch today and saw what must have been the best advertising for a computer product ever. Nick sent Jessica — who is gorgeous, but flagrantly stupid — an Apple iSight… and she was actually able, with no help, to put it together and get to talking to Nick in what seemed like no time at all.
Now, I’m sure this show is subject to heavy editing… but the appearance was that she got this package, opened it up, put it together, and a few minutes later she was up and running. Knowing what I do about Macs, this is not an uncommon thing for their hardware peripherals.
It’s also not terribly uncommon for PC peripherals, but not nearly as common due, largely, to the fact that Apple controls horizontal and the vertical — they have a very homogeneous hardware market to design for and that makes it easier on them than PC peripheral manufacturers have it… but I digress… the main point here is this…
…if Jessica Simpson can set up her iSight, you can too. Brilliant.

Yes, as long as it’s not chicken or fish, Jessica is fine…
Ditto on that.
