The United States Postal Service is just toying with me now. They’re treasing me. They’re being unmitigated assholes. As you might guess, this is the latest update to the Law School story.
Last year when Georgetown decided, it only took their decision a weekend to reach me. Sent on Friday, received on Monday. This year, it’ll be at least six days, seeing as the decision was not in the mail today. To make matters worse, I’m expecting other mail that was sent at around the same time that has yet to arrive.
So that’s an envelope from DC sent around the 16th and an Envelope from TX sent around the 16th… and while that definitely sucks, it doesn’t constitute teasing.
So what did come in the mail today? A christmas card from California[#].
Mailed on the 16th.
Fucking postal service.
Update: Hil gave me a good idea — GULC has an admitted students website, and you can log into it using your status check username and password four days after your decision… considering that my decision was made Thursday at the latest, today is the fifth day… and I didn’t have access to the admitted students site, so I’m going to say with 99% certainty that what I’ll be getting in the mail whenever it comes in will not be an acceptance. At best it could be a waitlist — but this does open me up to start looking at other schools now. Let the games begin (again).

We had to send one to our favorite
assholenarcissistyankee. But I’m sure you are getting all of the advertisement mailers from timbucktoo.
Be sure to post or email when the mail does get there from Texas. A-hole postal workers.
Will do.
These are the same postal workers that took SIX days to get my bar results from Trenton to my house [roughly 45 miles] and sent my NY bar results to my OLD address which then got rerouted to where I currently live for a total of 10 days.
BTW Pete, did it occur to you that there might be a separate password or other registration security device contained in the acceptance letter to PREVENT ppl from logging into the accpeted students site before receiving their letters? Just a though given that I currently have computer security on the brain – GEE I wonder why that could be…
Teresa: in a word, yes. To quote their admitted students’ site:
“username/password from your online application or status check system”
Did my letter ever make it, Pete?
