He still carries around that good, old fashioned Democratic hypocrisy, but you can put money on Barak Obama being our first black President. His speech at the DNC was shades of Bill Clinton, and he really hammered home the liberal ideals… absurd and unrealistic though they may be.
You know, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s our next Democratic President… after all, Kerry’s boat is going nowhere fast and if Sen. Clinton runs after Bush’s second term she’s going to get skewered… that’ll give us four (maybe eight, but probably not) more years of Republican Presidency and Obama will have had his time to mature in the US Senate and become a power player in the party. That’s a ridiculously short amount of time to spend in the Senate, though… so I doubt it. Maybe Hilary will pick him up as a VP candidate in ‘08?
Catch the transcript here, but know that it’s not as good written as spoken.

Yeah, his speech was decent; though not what I’d expect of a keynote at a major party convention. Really nothing about Kerry at all; thought it sounded more like an acceptance speech we might hear from Kerry himself. I hadn’t heard Obama speak until last night. I will give him that he’s an EXCELLENT speaker…he sure didn’t SAY much though. 4 years is a short amount of time in the Senate, but as quickly as his stock has risen lately, and as quickly I think it will continue to rise upon his election to the US Senate, I’ve gotta believe he would be an asset to the Clinton candidacy…he’ll only have two years less experience than John Edwards…and he’ll have infinitely more experience in elected office than Edwards.

Say what you want about his politics and plocies, he is a good speaker and he’s got a GREAT name. I laugh with envy every time I hear it. If only he had massive claws and participated in tournaments to the death with martial artists, that would be sweet…

Don’t underestimate Hillary. If she ever runs for President, what are you going to say about her that hasn’t already been said?

I guess if we knew the answer to that then it would have already been said.

Matt: I agree… but when you’re trying to endorse John Kerry and not give your opponents sound-bites for 4, 6, 12 years down the road… what can you really say? Nothing.
Bacon: I’d be surprised if that woman got 25 electoral votes in a presidential race. Nobody wants a screeching harpy for President. Nobody.

It really is a cool name…you’ve gotta give him that!

Come on…even Michael Dukakis carried 10 states. Dubya’s written off more than 25 electoral votes against the worst Democratic nominee since then.
No way dwould Hillary do worse than Dukakis & Kerry.

Never underestimate a woman, Bacon… I have every faith that Hillary could make Dukakis look like a master politician and campaigner.

I liked Bill, but there’s really no way I’d vote for his wife unless the alternative was appalling.
So… Hillary v. Santorum - Hillary
Hillary v. McCain - McCain
Hillary v. Bush - 3rd party
