So at lunch a co-worker said he wanted to see the film Super-Size Me. I thought about it for a few minutes and decided, well… here’s what I decided…
So let me get this straight. A guy eats McDonalds for every meal, usually supersized. This is, by any measure, far more than the average American consumes in a day. He limits himself to the same amount of exercise that the average American participates in. So there we have a) higher calorie intake (5,000 per day… which should be no big deal for a real man) and b) no more than an equal amount of calories spent. Amazingly enough, he GETS FAT.
Well color me surprised.
How does this even rate on the entertainment scale? Oh, there’s also the fact that he gets all kinds of sick. No kidding? You eat unhealthy food all day, every day and end up sick. Hot damn! Who’da thunk it?
Although this all does inspire the question: is Super-Size Me a prequel for Michael Moore’s autobiography?

I think it’s a lame attempt at a documentary. I just don’t know what the hell he’s trying to prove. Most people only eat fast food a few times a month.

I’m surprised the guy even lived. If I bought and ate a pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream every night, I would probably get fat and sick. Therefore Ben & Jerry’s is a bad desert. Wrong. The correct answer is ‘you’re an idiot’. Ben & Jerry’s is fine, you just can’t have it all the time. I think McDonald’s is crap, but I’m sure if you just eat it occasionally it’s no big deal from a health standpoint. I will not pay good money to watch someone eat hamburgers.

Pete, I thought you’d like to know that this guy is now a vegetarian…I know how you like those kids (probably a member of PETA too..)

Vegetarians are cool in my book so long as they don’t try to tell me what to eat.

i don’t think the guy’s a vegetarian, but he eats pretty healthily.. cuz his gf’s a vegan.. but he still likes his meat.
and it’s not just that he gets fat (and he actually walks more than the average american), but the levels of sickness that he does get aren’t something that anyone including his 3 doctors thought would be possible. it was the same damage to his body as if he had alcohol poisoning everyday. not that i’m saying the movie is that great or anything because it is kind of skewed and all… but it’s not terrible. it’s interesting at some points
although they do feature a guy who eats like 2-5 big macs a day and is losing weight
hope you’re doing well.
