I got a call from Alabama’s District Convention today, informing me that, the ADCKI officers shafted UA in terms of outstanding officer awards… probably punishing them for a loss of membersihp that was, in fact, the fault of the District Secretary/Club Membership Chair. Speaking of Ms. Collier, it turns out that she’s running for endorsement for Int’l VP. Steven Yates is, last I heard, not running… but I still think he’s going to run once DCon is over, possibly as late as ICON HOD. JG, who ran for District Secretary opted to run after the first round of caucuses, despite the fact that he had already been endorsed by the club… this owing largely, as I understand it, to the fact that he was scared to caucus. (and with good reason)
I’m not going to endorse a candidate for any office… being a past International Officer, I’m forbidden from doing so. I’m not allowed to campaign, but I’m not restricted from telling the truth about candidates, especially those with whom I have direct personal experience.
As to Cathy, make no mistake, she’ll get her work done. One thing I’ve noticed, though, is that she really has very little interest in doing things that aren’t fun or beneficial to her. I can cite numerous examples of times where Cathy SHOULD’VE been present at club functions, but wasn’t… despite the fact that she’s a District officer and International Committee Chair… these things should make her want to set an example, but instead she used them as excuses not to attend important club events (including some that she planned). I have very little tolerance for so-called “leaders” who don’t take part in club activities, and even less for those who make excuses for (and probably participate with) rumor-mongers within a club. Add to this the fact that she spent a good portion of last year claiming that she was the reason for the club’s success, and that if it hadn’t been for her (personally) I’d have had a bad year as President. Heh. She did, of course, backtrack and change her mind when I questioned her on it.
This is not the last time I’ll approach this topic, either. I intend to approach it fairly, so you’ll see the good with the bad, because I think we should all know about our potential candidates for office.

lol, I find this really amusing since I have those same exact feeling towards another person that was indorsed for int. office this weekend.
Who else was endorsed? Are my sources holding out on me?
Oh, you didn’t know Katherine was endorsed for International Trustee?
Ooooh… ok. Someone ought to give me the background on said “feelings” — I’m not sure I know the back story.
she doesn’t show up for club events, is in general too busy doing what will make her look better to care about her home club, ect, ect. climbing a social and power ladder.
