On the plus side, I haven’t had too much time to think about where the hell my law school decisions are. On the other hand, I’ll be damned if my professors aren’t out to get me. I swear to god. So two weeks ago I had a couple tests. Last week I had one and a project due. This week I’ve had three. Next week I have a test, paper, and project due. Fuck. Me. Seriously… I really wish it’d all just be due at the same time. Give it to me all at once!

So let’s just in the not-so-wayback machine and find out WTF’s happened to Pete over the last week or so.

Last week I participated in Club Elections and shortly thereafter rumors about an impending candidacy started flying, though I’m not quite sure why. I figure I ought to come up with a platform… you know… just in case the gossips are on to something. More on that later. The weekend was spent being a bum. I did get a lot done, but not half as much as I wanted to.

This week started out with a Java test on Monday… I feel really good about that one, actually studied for it, and it helped. No joke!

Tuesday morning I woke up bright and early to go to Ultimate practice. I knew it wasn’t going to be good when my tendinitis started acting up during my warm-up jog. Not good. That’s ok, I mostly finished practice, though by the end I was only at about 40% — I jogged instead of doing sprints. It was sore for the rest of the day, but I decided there couldn’t be any harm in throwing around a little bit in the afternoon, right? I mean… you don’t have to run just to throw! Well, turns out that I was a bit TOO tentative on it and wound up with a very minor MCL strain.

That bothered me a pretty decent bit Tuesday night, but by Wednesday it was (mostly) gone… so I decided to throw around some more with Jay — knee held out pretty well, though it did bother me a little. Prior to that, however, I had to endure a math test, which went less than splendidly, but at least it’s done. Michael (from work) and I had planned to study for today’s math test in the evening. I proposed 7:00, but was informed that was when Ron Jeremy (porn star) and Susan B. Cole (heinous bitch) were speaking at the plaza. It’s not every day you get to see a porn star “in the flesh” so to speak, so Michael and I went and watched some of the (staged) debate. The questions really were impromptu, though. They both made some decent points, though Ms. Cole’s were largely contradictory. That’s a discussion for later, though.

That night I was to be a mercenary for the BCM (Baptist Campus Ministries) softball team (despite my knee). Apparently they needed some help. I was informed that they had yet to score. How ironic is it that I would be picked to lead off, hit a triple, and come in to score on the next at bat? Yeah. For the baptists. Hehe. We ended up losing, although it took a late rally by the other team to erase the 13 runs we scored in the first two innings. Nevertheless, I had a hand in the loss committing one of the four errors that would’ve ended the two-out-rally that pushed them ahead. For the first time in… ummm… years, I dropped a fly ball. Oh well. We’ll win next week.

Now, you may be thinking… “Pete… tendinitis… strained ligament… what in the HELL were you doing playing softball?” In fact, my roommate said that very thing this evening. Don’t mind me, though, I feel fine today. That is, of course, if you neglect the fact that I took a bitch of a math test (yes, another one). I think I did pretty well, probably high end of the class, although should’ve been better — I forgot some easy formulas. Nevertheless, the tests are over…

My weekend opened up, so I’ll be able to get some work done, but I’m skipping class tomorrow as payment for my tests. I’m also going to go see the Mark Regev, Spokesman for the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. speak here on campus… I’m under the impression that he’ll be speaking about media bias, so it ought to be a good talk. It’s a part of the Caravan for Democracy, I’ll pay enough attention to write about it tomorrow, when I get back from dinner with my favorite med student.

Additionally, I may go to the A-Day game on Saturday and see what we’ve got coming back next year to complement the #3 recruiting class in the nation. Speaking of ‘Bama Athletics, we squeaked by Southern Illinois in the first round of The Big Dance, although we did lead by as much as 10 at one point. Next up is #1 seeded Stanford… let me just say that we’re ready for them. We have the toughest schedule in the nation, and if that doesn’t prepare you to play the best TEAM in the nation, nothing will. Roll Tide! here’s hoping for an upset!

Christ this is long. I’m starting to post like Jean now. Anyway… I had told certain folks that guest posting would be open this weekend, expecting to be occupied. Those plans have changed, but I’m still going to open up guest posting tomorrow afternoon soon. More to follow.

You hear that, Dad? OTHER PEOPLE are going to be posting. So when you read about someone getting into a car accident or forgetting to use protection when they’re, you know, roller-blading and stuff… look to make sure it’s not a guest poster before you call and lecture me on the proper use of helmets and wrist-pads. Okay? Thanks. (Oh don’t get all bent out of shape, you know I love you!)

hey! i resent that comment.. although when i was reading it that’s what i thought to myself. :P but now you know it’s just because you haven’t updated for awhile and have to play catch up. and besides you’re not quite as cool as me. you didn’t post what you ate ;)

  2. If I were you, with my current knowledge, I’d work harder at applying for business school (which means getting a job for two years and then applying). Then, you are the one who employs lawyers to do your bidding, instead of the one who is begging them to use your services.

    Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion… but I really have no desire to get a business degree… nor do I have much desire to be a businessperson. My goal is to be an Attorney, not hire them. Besides, there are a lot of avenues that don’t involve “begging” — criminal prosecution and corporate law being just two of them.
