Everybody else is doing it, so I decided to give Find Your Spot a try too. After taking the quiz I’m pretty sure that this was I was a very difficult person for the quiz to generate answers for because I’m very neutral about most everything. That said, here are my results, complete with comments.
- Cincinnati, Ohio (Pop: 1.65m) – Cincinnati? Number one? I had never really given this city a thought as far as a place to settle down goes. Very interesting that it would come out on top.
- Asheville, North Carolina (Pop: 70k) – I’ve been to a half-dozen Kiwanis Family Conferences near Asheville, and I do have to say that it’s a gorgeous place to be in the fall.
- Knoxville, Tennessee (Pop: 687k) – Hahaha… NO. Go to hell, Tennessee.
- Jacksonville, Florida (Pop: 1.1m) – This is more like it. findyourspot says the median age in the city is 32… very interesting.
- Charleston, South Carolina (Pop: 549k) – Average home price over $200k, and no snow? Hmm… this is another city I know nothing about.
- Athens, Georgia (Pop: 101k) – Well, Abby sure would like this… and I’d be close to SEC football, even if it is the wrong team… but at least Georgia fans hate Auburn and Tennessee like they should.
- Tuscaloosa, Alabama (Pop: 78k) – I think they base some of the survey results on your current zip code… surely they don’t expect me to live in the south! Oh well… it is Tuscaloosa. Roll Tide.
- Hickory, North Carolina (Pop: 342k) – Another city in good ol’ North Carolina… and I believe Hickory is near Asheville… I guess living in my birth-state wouldn’t be too bad?
- Bloomington, Indiana (Pop: 120k) – Hopefully IU’s law school is paying attention here… you see this IU? Bloomington! That’s where you are! Now where’s my acceptance letter?
- Greenville, South Carolina (Pop: 56k) – More South Carolina? Really? Hmmm… alright. So I guess I know nothing about the State. I wonder if I’ve got any readers from SC who could apprise me of it’s benefits…
- Biloxi-Gulfport, Mississippi (Pop: 122k) – Alabama’s state motto is “At least we’re not Mississippi”… and I don’t have any intention of living in Alabama. I’ll let you make the obvious connection.
- Overland Park, Kansas (Pop: 152k) – Never lived in Kansas. Never been to Kansas. The only think I know about Kansas is that Dorothy and Toto started out there. And there are Tornadoes. Seems charming.
- Bryan-College Station, Texas (Pop: 152k) – College Station, eh? Findyourspot says they claim to have the friendliest residents in the world. But they’re the “Aggies” and the have a freakin’ collie for a mascot. Boo!
- Johnson City-Kingsport, Tennessee (Pop: 100k) – More Tennessee, but no Nashville? What the hell. Freakin’ survey is broken.
- Orlando, Florida (Pop: 1.64m) – O-Town, eh? I had a blast at ICON there a few years back… I could live there, I bet.
- Jackson, Mississippi (Pop: Who cares) – Haven’t we gone over this before? No Mississippi.
- Chattanooga, Tennessee (Pop: 155k) – Still no Nashville, but I guess Chattanooga would be alright. Maybe. Still too much Orange floating around.
- Tulsa, Oklahoma (Pop: 393k) – Interesting pick for this one… never really given Tulsa much thought, though I did live in Oklahoma for a few years before moving to Wisconsin.
- Gainesville, Florida (Pop: 218k) – Seemed like a pretty decent place to be while I was down there, they do have at least one gas station painted the most gaudy shade of orange and blue, though.
- Tallahassee, Florida (Pop: 285k) – Well, now that the survey has covered most of the major cities in Florida…
- auburn, Alabama (Pop: 67k, not including livestock) – The only thing funnier than this pick is the fact that findyourspot didn’t capitalize “Auburn.” That’s ok, though, we understand. Go to hell Auburn.
- Clarksville, Tennessee (Pop: 104k) – I wonder what it is about my answers that seemed to indicate that I’d like living in Tennessee… I want a recount.
- Houston, Texas (Pop: 4.17m) – I’m not sure if I could ever really be a Texan, but at least this goofy survey finally put a big city on my list… if Houston really counts as a “big city.”
- Norfolk, Virginia (Pop: 1.51m) – Hi Kecia! If it’s good enough for my sister, it’s good enough for me. How ’bout it, Kec, will you help me find an Apartment?
I think later I’m going to re-take this survey and limit the number of “neutrals” that I select… sigh Auburn and Knoxville… this is some kind of a joke, isn’t it?

yeah unfortunately the survey doesn’t bias enough toward college rivalries which cause absolute disdain for cities and sometimes entire states. I got Knoxville, but at least I didn’t get auburn. Geez, what did you do???
he must have miss-answered the beastiality question. I got Louisville, Norfolk, and the OK city for my top 3. I could definitely do norfolk.
Oklahoma City is nice… I lived near there for a while… but you stay OUT Of Norfolk. At least until my sister graduates.
