If you’re a Republican Congressman and you make a statement that could be purported to show support for racist policies, it will make the front-page news for weeks, and you’ll have to give up your spot as speaker of the house.
If you’re a Democratic Congresswoman and you try to justify your assertion that Assistant Secretary of State Roger Noriega who happens to be Mexican American is a white man by saying “you all look alike to me” and then refusing to apologize… the news story will make roughly one newspaper and folks from the rest of the nation will have to hope they saw it when it scrolled by on FARK.
U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown verbally attacked a top Bush administration official during a Washington briefing on the Haiti crisis Wednesday, calling the president’s policy on the beleaguered nation ”racist” and his representatives ”a bunch of white men.”
Her outburst was directed at Assistant Secretary of State Roger Noriega during a closed-door meeting on Capitol Hill. Noriega, a Mexican-American, is the State Department’s top official for Latin America.
Damn that conservative media for mistreating the poor Liberals.
