So a LONG time ago (July, 2002) when Trackback first came out, I tossed together a VERY VERY basic Remote Trackback service. Due to not very much interest (Trackback has grown relatively slowly) the development has been slow.

Some time before Christmas, though, as I was upgrading the system, Jeevan from Haloscan contacted me about joining forces. Pretty much what it amounts to is the Remote Trackback system will get merged with Haloscan — all 80,000ish users of HaloScan commenting will get Trackback by default. All loosely based on my original code.

After talking with Jeevan today it seems like release might be a few weeks off, but it’s close enough to mention it. This is a pretty cool thing and Jeevan has some neat ideas to make it more robust.

All in all, I’m pretty pleased with it. It’ll bring trackback to a wider audience and with better service and support… so that’s cool.

Those of you who read here who keep blogspot blogs with Haloscan comments keep an eye out for Trackback!

Congratulations, that’s great news for Haloscan users.

Thanks mog! I’m excited about it, too. Things always take longer than they’re supposed to though, so we’ll see when this actually comes around.
