Yet another long comment from Chris Rosenbaum. It made a little more sense than the last one, and one certainly has to applaud Chris for growing enough of a pair to actually make some accusations, even if he did immediately down-play them. I’d love to be able to reply in the comments, but there’s just (once again) too much that needs to be said. At least this time I don’t have to spell out the inferences and then rebut them.

I was dancing around the topics for humor; if it was lost on you, so be it.
Uh huh. And I suppose you’ve got some ocean front property in Arizona to sell me, too? Don’t be shy, dear readers, if any of you really thought Chris’ motive was humor DO let me know… I’d love to see who’s less obtuse than I am.

most of your motivations are bullshit and … you value an argument more than the underlying cause itself
And he came to this conclusion, folks, after I refused to kiss his and the board’s ass for being so GENEROUS as to violate their gov docs LESS. Oh gee! Thanks so much! How shall I ever repay you? Or something. Chris’ own reasonings for flaking out after attempting to strike a deal between UCKI and the IBoard are fun to read… maybe I’ll go back through old AIM conversations and fish them out so everyone can see the “You should be THANKFUL the police aren’t beating you HARDER for wearing that green shirt” logic.

I enjoy argument and debate… but I very rarely do things solely to stir up shit. There was a definite need (and still is, really) for UCKI. There was a need for someone to show the IBoard that they can’t just blatantly disregard policy to assuage personal vendettas. Apparently I failed at that, but I gave it a try anyhow.

I’ll venture to say that here, even though you’ll probably equate friendship with blind allegiance.
Don’t give yourself too much credit, Chris, I couldn’t care less who you’re friends with, though I will say that if you always agree with all of your friends, there’s probably something wrong.

The only reason I even bothered to post was that you take your criticisms to personal level
I find it very interesting that I the post you commented on stuck strictly to the professional flaws of Rupert and Casey, the two friends you mention. I also find it interesting that you didn’t bother trying to defend your friends, rather you came over to throw some stones yourself.

Lastly, I carefully passed no judgment on your resignation from the board.
Because you didn’t have to, right? It was easier just to hint at it? Then you wouldn’t look like a complete moron?

one of the people who blasts the I-Board the most was one person who he himself had a chance to change it and left.
I tried to change it for six months, and would’ve tried for the entire twelve if Casey and Cindy had stayed true to their word… but they weren’t, and I had no qualms doing the right thing. I didn’t get to go up on stage at the end of the year and be a star, I had to endure several vague insults at general sessions and HoD, but none of that mattered anywhere close to as much as my club.

Since leaving the international level, you seem to have left nothing but a trail of negativism.
It’s not called “negativism” when the negative outweighs the positive by several orders of magnitude. This is called “realism.” I give credit where credit is due, and offer criticisms whenever I deem it necessary. It took six months of serving on the board to realize how much there is wrong with CKI, and I’ve been vocal about it since. I think Chris needs to go back and take a look at this article that I’ve linked before. The most notable quote is this:

When a politician says his opponent is mistaken, that’s a straightforward criticism, but when he attacks a statement as “divisive” or “racially insensitive” [or “negativistic”] instead of arguing that it’s false, we should start paying attention.

We all know what Steve Siemens would think of that.
I sincerely hope you were taking another shot at humor here.

but the politics – on both sides of the aisle – have never led to anything worthwhile.
I would say that this is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black, but I’m sure you realize that there’s nothing that can be done about the politics. Thinking otherwise is delusional and stupid. Besides, lots of good things come out of politics — I can even think of one in this instance: a very nasty and unservicelike side of staff and your board was brought out into the light, and the cynicism and skepticism that that breeds is good for the organization as a whole.

Here’s to hoping this is the last steaming pile of BS I’ll have to refute in a post for a while.
