Damn Midterms

Let me be among the first to inform you that today’s Midterm Exam in CS 470-001 at the University of Alabama SUCKED.

I have no idea how the material covered in class can be so vastly different from the stuff that shows up on the test. Now, I realize he said that he was making the test hard enough that he didn’t think anyone would get them all right. And I know he said that he would curve them. Nevertheless, it’s fairly disturbing to feel as if you gain NOTHING from going to class. To be fair, I usually don’t feel like I learn enough to justify going, but to feel like you have learned absolutely nothing? Sad, sad, sad.

It sucked. I was NOT a happy camper. It’s fine now, though, because it’s over.

In other news, I’ve been keeping an eye on this “Carnival of the Vanities” thing… basically, from what I can tell, if you have a post that you’re really proud of and want people to read, you send an email to that week’s host by Tuesday and on Wednesday the host publishes a big-ass list of links and synopses of the links. It’s neat and there are always some great things to read if you poke around enough. So, here’s yesterday’s Carnival (#56). Next week is going to be hosted by Eric Berlin.
