You might think that this headline is just another shot at liberals… but it’s not. The WorldNetDaily is reporting that the U.S. Communist Party is not running a presidential candidate in ‘04, instead, they’re urging their supporters to Vote Democrat.
This isn’t surprising, of course, because lately the leftists have been inching slowly, but surely, toward out and out communism and the democratic party seems to be actively courting them.
I’ve said before that the State department’s take on Israel/Palestine and the economy are two sticking points for voting Bush in ‘04 — but the last one is pretty much a non-factor, as far as I’m concerned. Why?
Well, first and foremost, the economy is largely cyclical and will eventually get better regardless of what the President’s policy is. Secondly, why on earth does anyone thing that Tax & Spend politics is going ot help the economy? It’s been proven time and time again that communist fiscal policies are pretty much worthless. Finally, why on earth should we trust a party whose very survival depends on keeping the poor people poor?
After all, if EVERYONE were rich, Democrats crying about “tax cuts for the rich” wouldn’t be very salient, would they? Think about it… if you’re a chronic welfare recipient, why would you vote republican? You wouldn’t, because they want to see you get your lazy ass a job. If you’re a Democrat, what good would it do you to get people off of welfare? None. When the “lower class” in America is no longer beholden to the government for their day to day life, most of them won’t feel so strongly about the working people propping up the lazy ones.
Honestly, what we really need is a viable (and sane) third party candidate. I’m not keen on a good number of general Republican policies, but I’m convinced that short of electing a terrorist (or communist) the worst we can do is elect one of the current democratic “candidates.”
So, in closing, I urge you to NOT support the communists: vote for anyone BUT the Democrats in ‘04.

Hmmm… Okay… *thinks*
But if we had no welfare system at all in the USA… would it become more like India? And would this be a good thing? Or a bad one? *does thought exercise*
