Mad PropsTM are in order for Robyn’s Sooners… it was one hell of a football game, and the OU fans, well… let’s just say that they make the Tennessee/Auburn fans look even LESS classy than usual. The Sooner Nation was a real treat to have in town and I can’t remember EVER being this un-displeased with a loss.

Granted, no Bama loss is complete with some officiating blunders (of course, I’m not so sure Bama wins are complete without them either) — but despite the blown calls the few times we beat the OU Secondary, it all came down to one well engineered play, and you’ve gotta take your hat off to Bob Stoops, who took the wind right out of the crowd… but before that play, boy was it good to see the “Friendly Confines” thundering like they were.

I can’t wait for Kentucky to come to town, I really think we’re going to have time to catch our breath and get the offense working. It still looks like we’re not quite sure what we want to do.

I’ll also say this… we had some recruits in the stadium Saturday night… and it MUST have had an effect. I’m looking at LAW SCHOOL, and I’m still giving Alabama a closer look after seeing the crowd so pumped up. Hang tight, Bama fans… our next NC will come under Mike Shula’s reign, mark my words.

Now that the game’s over, though, it’s time for us all to don our Crimson and Cream for the rest of OU’s schedule. Going 12-1 with our only loss to the National Champions would be sweet, wouldn’t it? Boomer Sooner. You can officially call me a sooner fan until February 1st, 2004. (Why so late? Well, if they win I certainly want to be able to celebrate)

In Allbarn sports news… they lost (that’s so satisfying to say). 0-2. Hehe… to quote an AU fan on an AU message board:

We suck. We suck more than suck. There isn’t a form of “suck” strong enough to describe how much we suck. We are the suckiest sucks that have ever sucked. If you must travel I-85 between now and December, be wary of the strong pulling sensation around exit 51, you might just get sucked off the road.

Now that their title hopes have been absolutely decimated, Alabama can relax and pull for the Tigers again. Why? Because if Tubby loses too many more games, they’ll get rid of him, and we simply can’t have that. He’s the most mediocre coach in the nation, and the longer he stays at Auburn, the better off Alabama will be. (Let’s just hope the Auburn AD doesn’t read this site)

The big question is will Allbarn find a way to finally score a touchdown against Vandy?

  2. Pete says:

Oh please… let\’s not give them too much credit. A touchdown? Seven WHOLE POINTS? That\’s like asking if their backs can combine for more than 100 yards rushing.

  3. Pete says:

Actually, having looked again at the new AP rankings, the big question is \”How did LSU manage to be the successor for \’Most Overrated School in the Nation\’ now that Auburn\’s out\”…

  4. Bobby says:

The fact that Bama was even close in that game is a good job for them. Should be interesting.

Pete, come back and check our offense after the OU/tx game. It\’s a pretty well-known fact that Stoops never opens up his arsenal anymore than he absolutely has to until kick-off in that event. Well, OSU not withstanding the last couple of years…don\’t even get me started… Our offense was very vanilla and darn-near lost us the game at home vs. Bama last year. They were an entirely different unit come the Rose Bowl.

That said, Bama gave us all we could handle — and then some — Saturday night. At times our D looked like it had gaping swiss cheese holes in it — especially in the secondary. I officially apologize for the Big XII officiating. I have never been more impressed with an unranked squad, and that Auburn went 0-2 on that day was just icing on the cake.

Thanks to the Tide for their heapin\’ helpin\’ of hospitality. Let\’s hope the new scheduled deal both schools are trying to work out goes through. It would be an incredible annual series!

  6. Pete says:

How true, on all counts. The annual would make for a great out of conference annual game.

  7. Linkmeister says:

Speaking of out-of-conference games: Nov. 29. You comin\’?

  8. Pete says:

Ha! I\’d love to if the plane ticket wasn\’t so insanely expensive!
