Zero-Tolerance. Law Suits for 12-year-old girls and broke college kids. This is the RIAA’s public face against filesharing. Wired, however, is running an article that discusses what the RIAA gets out of Filesharing.

Apparently there’s a company that sells P2P stats to the RIAA, so they know what to play on the radio, which, of course, causes sales go up. All of their big-meanie posturing is belied by the fact that they make excellent use of all of this “illegal” trading to increase their own sales.

Pretty clever, even if they are a bunch of bastards.
