Let me tell you what’s been going on with me lately. Not much. I guess that’s not really true, but not much of it has been terribly noteworthy.
Today I got a new pair of shoes (pictures here, mainly for my mother’s benefit), which I’ve really needed for about a year. Let me tell you all right now that they’re probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever worn.
K’s going away on a personal/business trip for a little while (more than a week) and she took the dog to the kennel for the trip. This means that for a while I won’t have a roommate or a dog around the house, which will be kinda weird. I’m not dreading it, of course, I do just fine on my own, but I’m accustomed to looking forward to that kind of reprieve. Oh well. As promised, I’ve also whipped up a picture of the dog.
Looks like a fun-filled series of days upcoming, though. Tomorrow afternoon is Ultimate Frisbee practice, which should be gobs of fun (and there should be lots of new faces after getting hundreds of names on our sheet at Get On Board Day today) followed by a night at The Jupiter to see Ingram Hill. Friday Fuzzy Navel is playing the Jupiter and saturday the Ultimate Frisbee guys are throwing a house party (and inviting aforementioned hundreds of people for the GOBD list). Sunday I’ve decided to do, well, nothing and Monday (after class and work) I’m off to B’ham to see my favorite Med Student.
Also interesting, Fanblogs is getting some media attention — Kevin and I got emails from a staff writer for Forbes.com who’s doing an article on football blogs and said he couldn’t find many good ones.
I’m also officially blaming K for getting me addicted to TiVo and smut. No, not THAT kind of smut… Paradise Hotel, The OC, and MTV’s Real World — Paris. I’m not much of a TV watcher, but I’m almost ashamed to say that I watch these things every week. That’s ok, right?
Last but CERTAINLY not least, a link from my favorite Bama Nut, AJ: NCAA Investigating Possible Major Violations (at Auburn). Let this be a lesson to those of you who get too much enjoyment out of seeing other teams put on probation. Every program in the nation is dirty, and could be found out at any moment.

Cute dog!!! And I like the way you posed the shoes for the picture, dork! (I mean it with love)
Umm… I didn\’t pose them… they, umm, were like that when I tossed them on the floor randomly. I swear.
The great thing about waiting to get new shoes is that you slowly slip into discomfort without realizing it and then a decent pair of shoes feels like absolute heaven.
By the way, here at my new job I\’ve just been placed in charge of looking at all the student org webpages and the ultimate frisbee webpage looks like its time for an ultimate update.
Also, I command you to tell your favorite med-student and mine that I said hello, and possibly give her a hug from me (if she needs one).
you have a tivo!!?? i\’m so jealous!
TiVo rocks. Jean, I\’ll tape something and watch it for you.
Daniel: I will be more than happy to give Abbigail a big \”whassup\” from you and maybe even a hug (if her BF will allow it, which I\’m sure he will, since he\’s a cool guy)
As for the Ultimate Frisbee website… well… I have no comment at this tiem.
Have a little more publicity, Pete! Imagine my surprise when I found fanblogs via a web search for football blogs and then recognized your name!
Hey, Thanks Linky! That rocks! And, ya know, if you know of someone who\’d be good to cover the WAC, feel free to gently shove them in our direction.
