Although I still have two more weeks of school work (Note: corrected because I’m a moron) before heading back down for my last fall in Tuscaloosa, the last official week of the internship ended with a bang, and now most of the cool people I met over the summer are back in their respective states preparing for another school year.
The interns seemed to plan a lot of activities this past week — one last hurrah, if you will — and I did everything I could. Tuesday was the Ultimate Frisbee All-Star game, which my team won. It was a good time and I think I’m in good enough shape to play with the guys on the club team at school, but we’ll see if I actually find the motivation to do that.
Wednesday a ton of us hit up Pub II, of particular note was the fact that most of the Data Security Interns were there and it was fun getting to drink with some of those folks after spending all summer working near them. This resulted in having “too much fun” which means that I ended up walking home from the bar. Thursday morning came early, as I absolutely had to be at work on time, no exceptions, but the day went quickly. I moved to a new desk for the last two weeks (long, boring story) and we saw the Intern Speech Competition, which I didn’t have to participate in, thank goodness.
Thursday night found a crew of interns out and about again… Elroy’s, Club 110, and Fat Jack’s. Lot’s of little intern flings came to light on Friday, people seeming a bit less interested in secrecy with the end of the internship just hours away. Friday was the final intern breakfast, and then lots of people went home early to leave. Those of us who stuck around saw American Wedding, which I thought was hilarious. Saturday was moving out of the Apartment and back home (another long, boring story) and then dinner with three interns (Josh, Em, and Tracy) and two sibs (Ara, RJ) at TGI Friday’s.
Sunday I officially sat around all day, played video games with my brother and just vegged. I also managed to miss about a half-dozen phone calls, sorry if you were one of those.
Ahhh… so what’s next? Well, there are still a couple dozen interns left so we’re going to keep partying like it’s 1999, I think, but I’m also pumped to be heading to Indy on Friday for the Counting Crows / John Mayer show with my sister Kecia — good times ahead.
Oh… and COLLEGE FOOTBALL SEASON is right around the freakin’ corner, baby… and I have my season tickets! Roll Tide. (For college football coverage, check out FanBlogs)
That’s all for now — ETA in T-Town: 14 days, and counting.

Wouldn\’t that be two more weeks of work? Or is school more fun?
*puzzled* Umm… maybe? I\’m not really sure what you\’re getting at. I work this week and next, then school starts.
It\’s about time we get another post here. I went through such withdrawals from this website that I had to create my own. Yeah, you\’ll give me a bunch of lines about having \”other\” stuff to do, but the fact remains that some people COUNT on this site for their entertaintment. I\’m just kidding….glad to see another post up though.
YAY! I’m not the only one who enjoyed the movie “American Wedding”!
