In a week there’ll be a lot fewer interns running around Bloomington, and that won’t be fun. They’ve been a blast to hang around and have really helped to make this a great summer. On account of the dwindling time, I went with a group to the Barn 2 Dinner Theatre, which was a great time. We had originally expected to see a funny show, but we were a week late and saw a show about a quartet of women singing fifties songs. There were lots of jokes that only the old people got — which was ok, because I think we were the only people there that weren’t drawing social security. It was a great time, though, and I’d recommend the dinner theatre to anyone passing through the area. (The food was good!)
Yesterday I headed up to Chicago to take in the Brookfield Zoo and a showing of the Blue Man Group (yes, another one) with Tess & Co. That was lots of fun, and I have pictures from the zoo to prove it! Some of them turned out really well, but the trip underscored my need/desire for a new camera. Once you go SLR, you can never go back.
Some good shots from the afternoon at the zoo were: A Sea Lion, Two dolphins underwater, and my definite favorite: a Butterfly and Two Flowers.
Time for a lazy afternoon of eating and reading.

They let you in the zoo?
July 29th, 2003 at 7:41 am
Yeah… the surprise is that they let me out…
July 29th, 2003 at 9:40 am
You\’re forgetting the most important fact: we had to pay them first.

Not to let us out! They let us out of our own free will!
July 29th, 2003 at 3:14 pm
They let you out?

True, but we did have to leave before we wanted to, which isn\’t exactly free will.
