Today I “finished” compiling a list of Law Schools that I’ll be considering application to for Fall 04. I say “finished” because I’ve “finished” — and every time I do, it’s a matter of days before I add schools to the list. I really don’t think there are any left that I’d actually go to, though — unless I absolutely had to.
These aren’t the schools to which I’ll be applying, mind you, I’d have to have lots of money to do that. This is, rather, the list of schools that I’m going to cull from to get the schools I’ll apply to. Huh? Yeah… when I get my LSAT score back (T - 2wks and counting) I’ll decide which handful of schools to apply to. That will be a decision based on the likelihood of actually getting in, the programs they offer, location, etc.
I tossed the top five schools on the list (Stanford, Yale, Harvard, Columbia, NYU) automatically, though I doubt I’ll be applying to any of them. There are also a few other schools in the top ten that are on the list, which stand a slightly better chance of being applied to, but I’m doubting most of those as well. There are also some schools on the other side of the scale that I’ll almost certainly get into, which will be used as fall-back schools.
Hopefully, from this point forward, this list gets smaller and smaller. Your feedback (Duke Sucks!) and questions (Why not MY Alma Mater!?) are always welcome, of course (use the comments). So now I’ll stop babbling and give you what you really want. THE LIST.

I don\’t think the Government will allow you to be in the same state as me, so there goes California schools.
I hear Indiana is good

Dude… that\’s not \”the government\” that\’s \”the CKI staff\” and they\’re inept anyway… now whether the CA schools will take me is another story…

hey! i just wandered into your site while searching for LSAT info. i also took the june 9th LSAT and am anxiously/nervously awaiting a score report. my list of schools is very similar to yours and i may also need to resort to bribery to get into a few of my choices. good luck and e-mail me if you feel like agonizing over test questions and such.

ARIZONA STATE!!!!!!! Come with me! Dude, I just got back from there this afternoon. It was gorgeous and wonderfuol in every way (except maybe the oven like qualities of the air). Well, I\’m going to keep pulling fo good ol\’ ASU. If you CAN\’T go there then you need to go to either Boston College (cause I\’m there all the time) or NYU (cause if I don\’t et my masters there I\’ll kill myself). Anyway, those need to be your favorites! Well, kiddo… Where ever you go I\’m sure you\’ll do wonderfully! HAve fun!

NYU is almost certainly an impossibility. Unless somoene knows someone that has pictures of the Dean of Admissions with his mistress, I\’m probably screwed. Boston College is a possibility, though — I never have lived in New England.

Northeast is a good place for law school…and makes you closer to NY for a visit =)
June 17th, 2003 at 2:47 pm
Hehe… as if I\’ll have time to visit anyone (especially first year)… my understanding is that it matters little if you\’re an hour or a light year away… you don\’t get out much.

NYU!!!!! I\’m an alum you know!
June 17th, 2003 at 7:50 pm
Oh and one of my best friends is a law prof. at Tulane. Sounds nice there.

I was aware of that Faith! (That you\’re an NYU Alum) Now… about those pictures of the dean of admissions…
Tulane, eh? *adds to list* I could consider Tulane.

Good list of schools you\’ve got going there Mr. Holiday. I was a big fan of Notre Dame and Indiana when I visited a couple months ago. Washington and Lee is extremely nice, but none hold a candle to Vanderbilt. (and I\’ve gotta agree with Amanda on this one…Go Devils)
